Namur Press Archive 23 January - 15 February 2026

35 years of captured moments, frozen stories, enduring images

Since 1991, Namur has maintained a close relationship with press photography. Three decades celebrating these artisans of the moment, these conveyors of reality who, through their reports, capture the essence of a year, a city, a world. Now, the Press Photographers’ Retrospective is no longer just Namur-based. It has grown, travelled and opened its arms to Belgian and international news. Like the profession it honours, it has undergone a metamorphosis, moving from film to digital, without ever losing sight of its mission: to show what matters, where it matters.

For this 2025 edition, seven perspectives will come together. Photographers Jacques Duchateau, Bruno Fahy, Mathieu Golinvaux, Vincent Lorent, Florent Marot, Jean-Pol Sedran and John Thys have searched through their archives, sorted, selected and chosen. From thousands of photographs, they have extracted the essentials: a tense political summit, a rumbling citizen demonstration, a sporting feat suspended in time, a face that says more than any speech. Their images will hang, in large format or more intimate versions, on the walls of the Galerie du Beffroi, composing a living scenography, a journey where each step is a discovery. Or even a question.
