Saynète 27 June - 11 July 2025

EXHIBITION: SAYNÈTE As part of the Voilà l’Été event (Namur, 27.06 to 11.07.2025)

Through recent works in a variety of mediums, the Saynète exhibition highlights the singular approaches of 11 artists linked to Namur by their practice or their local roots, and their shared concerns.

Our annual exhibition as part of Voilà l’Été takes the form this time of a carte blanche entrusted to the Les Théodores collective. This collective of artists and associated curators set the tone last winter when they took over a temporary space in the heart of the city, Place Maurice Servais. It was a high-profile occupation that immediately established Les Théodores as a legitimate player in the search for and promotion of emerging artistic talent.

For this exhibition, Les Théodores have carefully selected 11 active artists in fields as varied as painting, sculpture and photography: Florine Brennet, Gille Delhaye, Laurent Dumortier, David Kowalkowski, Marjorie Lambé, Anneke Lauwaert, Guillaume Ninove, Maryse Otjacques, Michel Peetz, Lucie Poumay and Brigitte Ribaucourt.

“The slightly provocative title of the exhibition plays on the idea embodied in the saynète, a short scene that is both modest and evocative, underlining the ambition to capture an artistic dynamic in the making, without pretending to a fixed definition.
