The Abbey of Notre-Dame du Vivier is undergoing a renaissance. An exceptional listed monument, the abbey is currently the subject of archaeological excavations prior to its restoration. It can nevertheless be visited by reservation.<\/p>\n
The abbey site is open to the public. 10 hectares of parks and gardens, hundreds of hectares of forests classified as a Natura 2000 Reserve meandering with walking paths.<\/p>\n
To welcome its visitors, the Abbey offers a 100-meter-long sun terrace in summer, and, summer and winter, the CHAPELLE BETHLEEM restaurant and bar, its terrace and its garden.<\/p>\n
This chapel, built in the 15th century to serve as the infirmary of the abbey, was completely restored in the 1980s by the Community of the Sisters of Bethlehem who celebrated masses and services there.<\/p>\n
It now welcomes visitors to its medieval world adorned with statues. Conviviality and simplicity reign there. With a capacity of 70 people, we serve simmered dishes, abbey bread with ancient cereals, cheese, and a number of sweet and savoury options.<\/p>\n
Abbey beers (Clem de Castro and Cister), Triple Carmeliet, green Chimay, To Touille\u2026 Wines, Champagne, cocktails, hot chocolate or Jagertee.<\/p>\n
Enough to reinvigorate after a walk, a visit, or simply to stop in this place steeped in history.<\/p>\n
