A trip of dreams 11 July 2024 20:00

Let us capture these flowery songs, unknown or famous, sweet dreams, adventures from foreign lands. For this “Viaggio onirico”, created at the Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice in September 23, boleros and canzoni, lullabies, waltzes or cantilenas are performed by the delicious Jodie Devos and Eléonore Pancrazi, accompanied by the refined piano of François Dumont. A delight.

In opera, giving the Parisian audience a change of scenery means first of all placing the protagonists in exotic lands. From Spain and Portugal – starting points for exploring the world – to India or Japan, via Egypt and Arabia, the authors take spectators far from their daily lives to great reinforcement of sets and costumes, but also by presenting new forms of sensuality. The composers also suggest elsewhere, without renouncing the charms of French art.

Jodie Devos and Éléonore Pancrazi, accompanied by the piano of François Dumont, explore this repertoire by going through both the forgotten pages and the greatest hits, such as Carmen and Lakmé.

Airs and duets by Olagnier, Dubois, David, Delibes, Massenet, Saint-Saëns, Offenbach, Bizet, etc.
