More than 600 artists exhibit their works all over the Namur territory. All artistic disciplines are represented: painting, sculpture, photography, installations, ceramics, styling, screen printing, illustration, video, watercolor, engraving, collage … This artist journey allows you to explore the Walloon capital in a new light for two weeks Come on. Transformed into exhibition spaces, unexpected places open up for creation in the city center and in many localities in Namur.
The objectives of Chambers with Views meet the philosophy of Namur Confluent Culture. It is about promoting artists, confirmed or young talents, whatever their discipline, and disseminating their work by encouraging meetings with the public. It’s an opportunity for the City to make art accessible to as many people as possible by focusing on proximity, diversity and free exhibitions.
A hundred creators participated in the first edition in 2010, against more than 600 artists this year, not counting the hundreds of guests who join the adventure by opening the doors of their house, their shop. This shows the interest of Namur residents, for what has become one of the greatest artistic journeys in Belgium!
Chambres avec Vues takes place in the Basket, but also around Namur (the Citadel, the Plant, Bomel, Salzinnes) as well as in Bouge, Jambes, Gelbressée, Malonne, Saint-Servais, Wépion… Seventeen “old” towns (out of twenty-five) will be a welcoming land for artists conducive to meetings and exchanges.
The artists exhibit, alone or in a collective, in a house, an apartment, a museum, a cultural center, but also in more offbeat places: hangars, shops, bookstores, garages, abbey, barges, gardens, schools , towers, churches, books, guesthouses or hotels, brewery, bank or insurance company, parking lot, bunker … The opportunity to explore Namur from an artistic, heritage and even unusual angle!
